Restart again. Today I didnt go to my weigh-in. I am just tired of having somewhere to go that takes me away from doing things around the house. I wanted to get some rooms done around here. I started working on the computer room when Megan called to say she didnt feel well. I picked her up and came back and got right back to cleaning. Megan slept on the couch. I just finished having lunch. I cut up a cantaloupe for the counter to snack on. Now to get a workout in. Another crazy week ahead. All the fundraising money is due at the Elementary and Middle school today and tomorow, so I will start counting tomorrow. Busy busy. I hope you all are well?

Back to Basics. Today I weighed in and I had another maintain. I have maintained a 35 pound loss now for the whole summer. Happy about that...YES. Do I need to finish what I started...YES. So today I got back to basics. Drinking the water, I walked for 50 minutes with a friend and I have been in and out of the attic all day (sweating is good) So now on to losing the rest of this weight. My birthday is in 4 weeks. I want to be down 40 pounds (5 pounds total) which is totally doable. So I plan to start posting all the time again. Look out everyone, it is getting ready to be all about me. Tired...that is what I am. I really need to get more sleep at night. Today Matthew had a soccer game and I was going to go watch Christine run at 9:20am ,but it was all I could do to get up by 9:30 am and head to the soccer field to watch Matthew's 10am soccer game. His team won. Matthew scored the first goal. He can shoot lefty and righty, it is cool to watch. Christine ran a personal best today. She is running in the top 10 of 53 girls : ) She is hoping to get back into the Top 7. There are some fast freshman running this year. They are soccer and lacrosse players. She looks good. I cant believe my baby is going to start her senior year this Monday. Megan has her first soccer game tomorrow at 430pm. She played in a tournament last weekend and has another tournament this next weekend. Fun, fun fun it has all began. I love it, but I need to get more sleep.

My aunt played hockey with us. And she is very good and she scored lots of goals.

Too many ands I am thinking LOL Actually there was more to the entry this is the only part that has to do with Ruth playing hockey. JoJo
Went to my weigh in today and lost 1 pound. So now I am back to the 35 pound total loss. SO it is time to get this last 20 pounds off. I am soooooo ready. Maybe when we have air again, I will feel like working out on my treadmill. I need to get to bed as they will be here at 8am to start installing our new unit.

Future Olympians: Yep that is what Ruth and I aspire to be. Both of us after watching some of the Olympics have decided we need to get our game face on. Today I stood in my family room lifting 2lb weights and saying to Megan "oh my, I need some serious help" I was able to do numerous reps equaling 100 of 3 different arm exercises. It is time for me to get serious about my weight loss. I am maintaining my loss well, but I havent really lost much in the last couple of weeks. So now is the time to lose the last 20 pounds. My birthday is in 8 weeks and my 1yr rejoining WWs is in 10 weeks.
So tomorrow I plan to post my weigh in and then I plan to start posting on the blog to motivate myself and others (yes, that means you guys) So get ready, time to lose those flabby arms and get our olympic bodies back. Love, JoJo

Week 37 and Week 38:

Last week I guess I forgot to post. I was up .6 and this week I was down 1.8 pounds. So I am down 31.2 pounds since going to meetings, 35 pounds since I started. I worked out 4 days last week. One night I worked out at 1215 until 1am, going 2.6 miles. The next day I went over 4 miles in an hour. I worked out yesterday going 4.125 miles in 60 minutes and one day earlier last week I did a quick 15 minute workout going over 1 mile. Lots to do before heading to PA on Thursday. Swim meet tomorrow night at home. I hope the weather will not act up. I want to get it in. Safe travels everyone. Love, JoJo

Week 36

Today I lost 1.6 pounds for a total of 30 pounds at WWs and 34 pounds total since I started. Short-term goal is to lose 6 pounds to get me to the next weight class (yeah I am still a wrestler) In 8 pounds, I will have lost 20% of my highest weight. Right about then, I think I will set my WWs goal. I have at least 20 pounds on the nose to go to reach what I think would be a good weight. So one day at a time here.
2 1/2 weeks until PA trip. I cant wait to see everyone, especially Mom and Dad. It has been WAY to LONG. Love, Jojo

Two weeks of weigh-ins. I gained 1.2 last week and today I lost 1.2. My clothes are fitting better and I am feeling good. I still have some weight to lose but slowly but surely is working fine for me. I am working towards the 30 pound mark at WWs and 34 pounds at home : ) I know I am can do it this week. I am ready : )

No Blogging since the 4th - what's up?

Yes.  I’m still looking for JoJo’s updates every so often.  Sorry I haven’t been blogging in awhile.  Trying to keep my project at home moving forward and prepare for any other opportunities that pass my way.

 

I hope that Dad, all of the brothers, brother-in-laws that have children had a Happy Father’s Day.  Mine was great!

 

Got up, opened my cards and a present from the kids, went to church, went home and had a little lunch, Grace and I played some cards (Slap-jack), went to the pool in the neighborhood(Andrew went from never putting his head underwater – even in the bathtub, to swimming underwater in less than 3 days), Penny made me and the whole family a great dinner, Penny, Josh and I had a little Texas Hold-em tournament (Penny won), and then I picked up Aunt Marcy Simons at the airport (She was out in Arizona interviewing to be the head of their library at Northern Arizona University – she doesn’t think it will be the place).

 

Had an offer on the old house last week (too low), and if we can sell it this month, we should be able to make the reunion.  Without it, we’ll either not make it, or I’ll try to get away (with maybe a few kids) to see everyone somehow.

 

We have the National UMDF convention in Indianapolis at the end of this month, so it will be busy in the up-coming weeks.  I’m filling in for Penny as the moderator for the Parent Panel, because….

 

Marcy nominated Penny for an award and she won for one of the top 100 most Extraordinary women http://www.nabiscoworld.com/100caloriepacks/#/100ExtraordinaryWomen/.  They are flying to California at the end of the month (all-expense paid).  She’ll have to miss the last few days of the national convention, even though she is the President for the state of Indiana.

Opps, I forgot to post my Week 33 weigh-in. I gained .4 which was a scale difference actually. I went to another center last week on Wednesday and they had me down 2.4 pounds. I went to my center this Monday and even though I weighed the same at home as last Wednesday, it had me up .4. I thought my 2.4 was a little high for last week, but was glad to take it. So I am still losing and next week on the scale I will be back to weighing what I should at that center.
Monday I did 40 minutes and 2.194 miles and today I did 60 minutes, 4.367 miles and 705 calories. I remember when I couldnt wait to get to 4 miles in an hour. Last week I got zero workouts in. I would say I average 0-3 workouts a week. Not good at all. I wish I could get myself to just do a little something each day. Hope you all are well? JOJO

I lost 2.4 pounds for a total of 28.8 pounds in 32 weeks, an average of .90 a week. Man so close to 1 pound a week. Short term goal is to lose .4 pound to reach my May goal to lose 6 pounds in May. Other short term goal is to lose 1.2 pounds for a 30 pound total loss on WWs. I am down 31 pounds since I started trying to lose weight. Love, JoJo

Phew,
Just got done working out. I did 30 minutes straight jogging. I went 2.198 miles. I love my new heartrate monitor. I like to workout at my max heartrate. I did landscaping at the front entrance on Friday for 3 1/2 hours. Yesterday I was SOOOO sore. Today the first 20 seconds on the treadmill, I was thinking "on man, I am never going to make it 10 minutes forget about going 20-30-or 40 minutes" Now that I am done I feel so much better.
My weigh-in this week will be on Wednesday, there will be no meeting on Monday due to the Holiday. On my scale today, I am already down 1.2 pounds from last week. I am hoping to make it more like 2 pounds by Wednesday. Then I will have a short week before my next Monday weigh in.
I hope you all are doing well. We are crazy busy here. Swim team has started. Matthew is currently busy with his baseball tournament on top of swim team and he plays roller hockey on Wednesday nights. I will share some hockey pictures later. (((((hugs)))) Love you all, JOJO

I lost .4 for a total of 26.4 pounds in 31 weeks. I am going to try and lose 30 pounds by the end of May. I have 2 weigh-ins left. I know I can do it. Week 30 weigh-in. Today I lost 1.6 pounds for a total of 26 pound in 30 weeks. For an average of .86666 a week. I am still trying to get myself to the 1 pound a week mark : )

My next short-term goal is 30 pounds lost. Eight more weigh-ins before our July family reunion. Would love to be down another 10-14 pounds by then. Fourteen would have me at 40 pounds lost.

Workout IN. 45 minutes jogging. Not sure if it is wise to workout at 1030pm at night, but I really wanted to get a workout in today. I was down on my scale this morning from last week and even if the working out late screws up tomorrows weigh in, in the long run I will benefit from working out tonight.
So we shall see if the scale moves tomorrow or not. Either way I know I am doing what I need to do to get to my goal weight.

Goal this week breakthrough the 25 pound mark and get closer to the 30 lb mark. I am down today on my scale 27 pounds since I started.
Monday, I lost the 1.2 pounds I gained the week before : ) So still on the losing track. Feeling good, getting ready to workout.

Weigh-in: Yesterday, gained 1.2 pounds (not a true gain...already down it and more today...pms gain)

Today's workout: 60 minutes treadmill 4.03 miles and 695 calories burned. I can now jog the whole 60 minutes, not straight of course, but getting stronger and stronger. I break every 10 minutes just to drink some water and then I get started again. Feels good. Still need to lose 25 pounds, but I am still totally in the game. Hope you all are well?

Friday Workout IN. 60 minutes treadmill (661 calories)

I now jog 15 minutes straight...stop blow nose, drink water or stretch and back to another 15 minutes until I get to 60 minutes. The last 5 minutes today were he**, but I was glad when I finished.

Tomorrow after Megan's soccer game at 930am, I am going to spread pine straw at the pool and do things over there until I have to go to baseball at 130pm. After baseball if the pool is not done, I will go back over there. Fun, fun fun.

Tuesday workout IN. Just finished 45 minutes jogging on the treadmill. (486 calories) I feel really good. I do have a vein on my one leg that was bothering me when I started. I stopped, took 2 baby aspirin and got back to working out. It stopped hurting and now it feels fine (maybe it is all in my head lol) Or maybe it was because I was thinking of MOM and her veins.

this is us at the Lincoln memorial! in dc we went to like all the memorials! we went to the national mall the national monument and some relay cool museums. i hope to see some of you at Anna's first Communion! i miss you all to much. please visit me. me and some friends caught a fish yesterday! it almost died! me and my friend walked to an ice cream place.
Week 27 weigh-in. I lost 3.2 pounds today. So I lost the .6 from two weeks ago, the 2.2 pounds from last week and .4 more. Yeah me. I had a good week after I had 2 days of food fits. Last week Monday and Tuesday, I ate out of control. I hadnt done that in awhile. I then got right back on track. So glad I didnt waste a whole week eating badly. So now I am shooting for .6 to get my 25 pound charm. I am hoping to lose 1.6 or more to move me into another weight class. I love thinking of myself as a wrestler.

Workout IN. I did 40 minutes today. Again almost all jogging. I am really sore right now. Tomorrow I may need to take it slower. I have to be at Matthew's school from 11:15-12:15. Longest hour of my life I am sure. I hope to get my workout in before going, but not sure if that will happen or not.
Tomorrow Matthew starts his rollerhockey tournament. He has a game at 530pm and then he has baseball from 7:30-9pm. Then a 930am roller hockey game, batting cages from 1-2 and game at 3pm. Sunday he has rollerhockey at 7am, 1130am and 145 pm. (the last game is if they are in the finals. Christine will run the 4X800 relay on Saturday in the Bojangles Relays. I hope I can sneak over there and see her run at 2pm. Megan has no soccer this weekend, woohoo.

Workout IN. I did 60 minutes on the treadmill. It was over 4 miles and 621 calories. I jogged about 52 minutes of the 60 minutes. I feel really good NOW that I am done. I was thinking "why am I doing this" when I was working out. I really love working out, not sure why I dont make a point of getting it in each day.

Long weekend, first big gain. I gained 2.2 pounds. I didnt drink hardly any water while I was gone. Left for Charleston, SC. , Friday around 12:45 and returned home last night about 615pm. I feel like all we did was eat meals with the team, watch soccer and sleep....and lots of driving in the van.
This week I will get back to eating, drinking and working out. Last week was crazy.

Week 25. Today I had a slight gain of .6. I have been watching the scale all week and it wasnt moving even with all my working out. My gut started hurting last night and today most of the day I had a stomach ache and now I have a headache. I realized this morning after I weighed in, I couldnt remember the last time I had a BM (Hanlon dinner talk) Well, I had a week's worth of them now. I have the feeling this gain is not a true gain and will be gone as fast as it came. So onward and downward.

Workout in. I did 60 minutes (580 calories and over 4 miles) It was a good workout. Now to shower and relax.

Marty and the kids are going to the last Carolina Hurricanes game. They need to win to be in the playoffs. Should be a good game. I plan to fix myself something to eat and relax. I have about 380 pool invoices to do. Fun, I know.

Wednesday workout in. 40 minutes treadmill (405 calories) Lots more jogging than walking. My walking pace is now 3.9/4.0 anything above 4.0 is jogging. I jog at 4.0-4.4. The first 30 minutes were intense, the last 10 minutes, I went ahead and started at 3.6 walking to 4.0-4.5 jogging. Tomorrow I think I will start slower. I think I am going too fast again. I still have weight to lose so I plan to slow down as to not get hurt. Reminder to self, you are still FAT but getting thinner.

By the way, the girls and I took our measurements today. Christine's thickest part of her arm is 8 1/2 inches LOL My wrists are thin and 6 1/2 inches. She was bummed that Megan's boobs are bigger (sorry for the male readers) It was quite fun. We will retake our measurements May 2nd, one month from now. I am already down many inches all over. Got more inches to go.

Workout in. 35 minutes HARD. I did walking and jogging. Wowsers. I plan to take it slow, so I dont get hurt. Phew, shower time :)
My 24th week weigh-in. I lost 2 pounds for a total of 24 pounds in 24 weeks. Woohoo, next week that 25 pound magnet is MINE. Had a good week, but still only got 2 workouts in. SO I am losing pretty much by watching what I am eating. I know I cant lose the last 25 just watching what I am eating. I will need to get moving. Spring Break here so I plan to get some workouts in.

Crunches ...OK ouch !! I started doing crunches, now I have decided to try and do them every day. Wowsers, if there is a muscle in there it is broken now. I look forward to having a stronger tummy. I am sure it will get easier, but I am sure it wont be too soon. LOL

Spring Break is here. I am so ready. We have soccer all weekend and 3 baseball practices, but not getting up every day will be heaven. The goal is to get the house in order. I am hopeful. Hope you all are well?

Getting ready to workout once the Heating and Air Conditioning check is done. They called to say they are on the way, wanted to know if it was OK if they were early...sounds good to me. It will be a quick job, they will tell me I need a new unit soon. I know :) Will use my tax check from Bush to stimulate the economy. $2100 of the $6000 it will cost me. I will take it.

I lost 1 pound today. I lost the .4 from last week and .6 more. Today I am going to workout. Sadly, it will be my first workout for the month of March. But the good thing is I and ready to get back at it. I was looking at my numbers and plan to continue eating 26 points plus whatever flex I want. I figure as long as I am leaving 7 flex (since I should be eating at 25 points) each week and I am still losing then I am happy. I know I would lose more if I ate less, but my goal is still to eat as much as I can and lose. So far so good. I am easily wearing 14s now and I feel really good. I bought a new exercise ball so the girls and I can work on our core strength. I am sure it will kick my butt as my abs are weak, therefore my back is weak. I am excited to get that area of my body stronger.

Where is everyone? Where are you Jo Jo? Hope everyone has a HOLY Holy Week. It is 12:36 AM and I should be in bed but for some odd reason I can't sleep. So here I am. I am helping organize a fundraiser for a friend whose daughter is battling cancer. So far I have some really cool items for the silent auction. My friend Becky Morken works for Vera Bradley and is going to give me something. Dr. Ray Guarendi who is that child psychologist that is also like a stand up comedian emailed me yesterday to say he would send me "some things"--I am assuming that means autographed books. I am going to ask our brother Tom for two ND football tickets. I am going to ask Steve's boss if she will donate dinner for 2 at the Club. It is fun to try to see what I can get--Starbucks said they would give me a pound of coffee and a mug. :) I am going to have a flyer made tomorrow and take it to area businesses to collect more donations. Emilija is a sweet heart and I wish I knew how to upload her picture for you to see her. David just came down. I gotta get him back to bed. Nighty night. Love, Ruth

I participated in a program online during the holidays called "maintain, dont gain" over the holidays. They sent emails and offered tracking items, food and activitities to print out. I actually got a really nice pair of socks for taking a survey at the end. My name was entered into a raffle and I won a $100 gift certificate. I will find out later this week what my options are for spending my $100 GC. The best part of it all is I lost weight all the way from October (when I started WWs) until just yesterday. I will let you know when I find out where I get to spend my GC.

Week 21 Well, I weighed myself yesterday and saw I was up a little over 2 pounds. I decided to have a perfectly on program day. I drank my water and ate all my points. I had a food fit at one point, thinking oh I am up anyway, what the heck. I stopped myself and later went to bed. Today I weighed in and was up .4. Guess I should have stayed with eating on track. I may have had a maintain and no gain LOL So I gained less than a 1/2 of a pound. Goal next week, lose the .4 and more. Today I am sleepy. Went to 4 stores looking for a glue gun because I dont feel like looking for mine. Found a 2.99 glue gun, but they didnt have any sticks. Now I need to go look for the sticks or go find my gun and sticks, sheesh. I would rather take a nap. Christine is running the mile tonight in the track meet. Matthew has CCD at 445-6pm and then he and I have a First Communion meeting from 630-830. We will be eating Wendy's in the parking lot. At least I know what I am eating tonight. Week 20 weigh-in. Today I lost 1.6 pounds for a total of 20.2 pounds in 20 weeks. It was another good week with regard to eating. Even though I have felt horrible all week, I journaled everything and I still made really good choices when I had to. SO next short term goal is 25 pounds. I am 4.8 from 25 pounds lost and 5.8 pounds from another lower weight class :) (I am like a wrestler) Hope you all are well? I am still coughing my brains out. I cant wait until I feel 100% again.

I'm missing everyone...it's hard to believe that only a week ago we were still together in Hilton Head! I'm sad to hear that our girl Gabby is sick! I was worried about that when we left. I hope she is doing better soon...We'll pray for her even more than usual. How are the glasses, Mike? Are they still a bit off...if so, let me know and Tom will take care of it. Did Penny get her glasses yet? Tom says she better get them soon.

Please pray for Rachel. She has a double ear infection and is in alot of pain. I am sure the anitbiotics and Motrin will kick in soon but she is miserable for the moment.

I was up last night at 2 AM---Couldn's sleep because of my coughing fits. I didn't sleep the night before because Leah was up. I am hoping to get some sleep one of these nights. It sure feels like LENT.

Week 18/19 weigh-in....I was down .6. So down 18.6 pounds in 19 weeks. Now to get that 20 pound mark in 20 weeks :)

This cough is killing me. I took Delsym last night (didnt do a thing). I was up all night. I hope this is going to be a quick cough/cold. I am not liking it at all.

Heading back to bed. Just came down to take something for a headache. I got on the scale for the first time in over a week. I weighed EXACTLY what I weighed 2 Mondays ago for my weigh-in. I still have until tomorrow for an official weigh-in. I was thinking I would be up 3-5 pounds. You never know anything could happen on their scale..that is the only scale I really count, but for now I am pleased.

Lots of cool things in Gabby's room. The tree on the wall was hand-painted.
There are 7 birds in the tree. 2 for Penny and Me, and 5 for the kids
(including Jessie).
