Workout IN. So I just finished 30 minutes on the treadmill. I am going a tad faster, so covering a little more ground. Off to shower before Matthew gets off the bus. Love, JoJo
Had a cool morning with Josh and Grace today. I woke up and made breakfast for Josh and I. (We had talked about doing this the night before and I actually made it out of bed at 6:15a.m. I made us eggs, bacon and toast. We just sat and talked and afterwards he said thanks and gave me a hug. I could tell he really appreciated the time we had. I know I did as well.

I then woke Grace up (who asked to get up early) at 6:30a.m. and she decided to have cinnammon toast, bacon and a few leftover eggs. She also had fun. I think I may try to have breakfast with them on more mornings. I think it will be fun.

Just finished 30 minutes on the treadmill. Feel blah, glad I got it in. Today Jackie found out she has more cancer. I spoke with her on the computer before my workout. She is very overwhelmed (her words) and is of course feeling like it is not fair. What else would you think if you were 15 years old. It is hard for her to make sense of it. They will head to Duke tomorrow to get more information and they are contacting MD Anderson and Sloan Kettering for consults. I am very sad today. Long day, ready for bed. Night all. Love, JoJo
Today I raked leaves for 25 minutes. I am still going to try and do some time on the treadmill. Again, I will shoot for 20 and hope for 30 minutes. Have a great day. JOJO

Working out....so yesterday I lasted 10 minutes on my treadmill. My left hip has been bothering me. I even went back to bed today after the kids went to school as I am not getting enough sleep at night because of it. Today I got on the treadmill and the pain seemed to be more in my buttocks then hip. I took it slow and was able to do 30 minutes on the treadmill today. I thought about only doing 15 minutes and adding 5 minutes a day, but since I felt up to it, I went to 30 minutes. Tomorrow I may shoot for 20 and hope for 30. We shall see. Hope everyone is doing well? Love you all, JoJo

What a crazy day! I dont like Mondays. I am so tired and the day just drags on and on. Today Christine called for a ride home from track practice when I was getting ready to take Matthew to religion. I tell her OK I will pick you up but you have to ride with me to church. I go to get her and Becca climbs in (not a problem but more driving for me) They want to stop at the Fellows after I drop off Matthew because she has made cookies after school. I drop Matthew off, take the girls for cookies. I take Becca home and finally make it home in time for a few minutes before I have to head back to church. I needed to get Matthew so I could then run to the middle school and get Megan from her last tryout for basketball. She came out smiling saying they would post the girls names at 9pm. I was like oh man, are you kidding me. From there Megan and Matthew and I drove to Wendy's to grab dinner. After a quick meal Matthew and I headed to Dreamsports to look at roller hockey equipment. We got there at 715 and by 745 the guy in the sports shop had called Play It Again Sports in Raleigh for me so I could get my stuff there. The sports shop didnt have his size in some stuff and other stuff was expensive. So by 755pm, I was heading to North Raleigh. Matthew and I walked out of there with $207 worth of stuff at 858pm. Now I need to pick up Megan and see if she made the bball team. I get home at 930, grab her and Christine and we head to the middle school. Only 5 7th graders made the team, #8 Megan Miller was one of them. Dang it now she is playing bball 5 days a week. Just kidding (kinda) Megan decides her treat for making the team is a sweet tea from McDonalds. We come home and Matthew has to try on ALL of his hockey stuff. That was interesting to watch. We will have to head to the rink an hour early to get it all on. I hope Tuesday will be better. Fat chance...megan has bball until 445, christine is done with track at 445 and Matthew has roller hockey placement from 4-5pm. Guess I will look forward to Wednesday :)
Week 6...a small loss of .2. So another quarter of a pound down. So I am down 7.4 pounds in 6 weeks (average of 1.233333 a week) I know I would be losing faster if I was working out. SO off to workout. 5 weeks until 2008. The plan is to keep losing for the next 5 weeks. Hope you all are doing well? Love, JoJo

Gabrielle's Gloves

OK, I might have mentioned to only a few of you that some ND undergrads are
working on a project that will create some gloves for Gabby's hands. We're
always concerned about her biting her hands (she's had moments when she
seemed to not be able to stop biting and I thought she was going to bite her
fingers clear off) and so we met with this team and described what we've
been looking for. They are actually making progress after our first
meeting. Here's a note below.

Isn't God amazing?????? Wow!

Mike

--------------------------------------------------------
All,

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you but the group has been working
very
hard on finishing a pair of gloves for Gabrielle. So far we have decided on
a
few designs:
- Thin knit glove that should fit Gabby's hands
- Velcro opening to make it easy to put on and take off the glove
- Plastic exoskeleton over the fingers to provide protection from chewing
and
biting
- Neoprene (knee brace material) cover to protect the knit glove and
increase
durability
We are working on finishing up a pair and should have it finished within the
next few weeks. We would like to present what we have by the end of the
semester. Perhaps the second week of December. Is there a time you might
be
up in the area?

Let me know if you have any concerns. I look forward to showing you what we
have and I truly hope it works out for the best.

Thanks,

Brendan Hennessy

Didn't get any pictures today, but it looks like the roof has shingles on it - completed. When I went by at 6p.m. there was a contractor packing up for the day - but there was a work light on inside the house - pretty wierd.

Penny, the kids and I moved boxes into a storage unit over the weekend. We're trying to empty out the current house, just so we're not caught unprepared. We're not really ready to show the house, but should be by December.

The realtors weren't going to list the house until January. I get the impression from the progress, we'd better start listing it now.

Tomorrow's weather, 66 and sunny. Strange Novemeber, huh?

Love and God Bless!

Mike
Week 5 weigh-in. Phew, a loss -.4. I am happy to have another loss. My goal for this week is to START exercising and have a loss next Monday. I would love to have a loss, no matter how big or small all the way to New Year's. So today I plan to jump on the treadmill and get my first workout in TODAY.

Kids and I had to point out the banana that the contractors ate while
building. It used to be yellow, obviously, but every time we visit it is
still in the same place, so now it's become part of the trip to the house to
see if the banana is still there.

Yes, I know, we're weird.

Love and God Bless,

Mike

Week 3 weigh-in on Weight Watchers. I lost 1.2 pounds. I am now down 5.2 pounds in 3 weeks. I am happy with that considering I havent started to workout yet. SO this week, I am going to try and get 2-3 days in where I walk. I plan to start out small and work up. So a couple weeks of 2-3 days a week moving up to 3-4 days. I would love to workout 5 days a week, but the only way that will happen is if I start putting myself on my calendar each day that I want to work out. Maybe it will happen, who knows. Onward and downward.

Week two back on Weight Watchers: I forgot to post on Monday. I was down .8. SO I am down 4 pounds in 2 weeks. I will post my weigh-in next week on Monday. I am hoping to get to that 5lb mark so I can set my next goal of 10 lbs. I plan to just take it 5 lbs at a time. My first big goal is 10% which is 20 lbs. After I reach that 10% I will set another 10% goal and so on. So far I am doing really well. I havent added daily exercise because I just havent had a lot of time. When I do add the exercise, I will start slowly as I dont want to get hurt and I dont want to set an unrealistic exercise schedule that I cant keep up. How is everyone else doing?
